Steering Wheel

Want to upgrade to an aftermarket steering wheel for that added feel and aesthetic appeal? Here's what you'll need and a link to a How-To for the install. First, find an aftermarket wheel you like, and be sure to get one with a standard 6 bolt pattern. To get the wheel to fit, you'll need a hub adapter. There are two common ones available. Sparco makes one, and Momo makes the other.

Once you have the new wheel installed, you will have an airbag light on. Since aftermarket wheels cannot accommodate airbags, you can either use a resistor to trick the PCM into thinking there is an airbag in the circuit, or remove the bulb from the instrument cluster. A 2-ohm resistor will do the trick. Simply bridge the terminals on the airbag connector and the light will turn off.

WARNING: Removing your airbag is both illegal and dangerous.

Seats

Want to swap in an aftermarket seat for more support, or to freshen up the interior of your project? Prefer the design of another PL OEM seat, like that of the SRT-4? Here we show you what you'll need and what is available.

What You Need

Once you've selected an aftermarket seat you want, you're going to need a new mounting bracket for the install. If installing an SRT-4 seat, you will also need SRT seat brackets. The SRT-4 seat and bracket assembly will bolt directly into any non-SRT, so long as they are used together. Aftermarket seats will not work with any OEM bracket without considerable modification. Brackets for your 2gn are available through Sparco. Brackets are side specific, so be clear when ordering. To retain the ability to slide the seat back and fourth, a trackset, or slider kit, is needed. Also available through Sparco, the trackset allows an aftermarket seat and bracket to adjust like an OEM seat.
