Part Number Request: Engine Block heater for 2000 Dodge Neon

Post by gninja21 » Wed Jul 30, 2008 10:00 pm

I know this may be an odd request but I need to install one on my neon because it is going to my winter beater out in Colorado and I hear it might be a good idea to get one.

Sorry I didn't see this before :beatstick:

There isn't a kit # for Neons, but here are the two parts you need.

Engine block heater...part #4557686AB...MSRP $40.75

Cord for heater...part #4793530AB...MSRP $10.25

Chrysler also offers a battery blanket heater as well, part #82300778...MSRP $34.85. It comes with everything you need.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

You would uses the same part #s. The core plugs are the same between the 2.0 and 2.4.

As far as install, getting to the freeze plug is the hardest part. Swapping it out isn't very tough.

Or there are these style that mount in the heater hose. My buddy had one similiar on his full size truck. even heats the heater core, if the heat is on in the cabin!
