Part Number Request: Tranny solenoid pack gasket

Post by LionheartedSXT » Sat Jul 12, 2008 6:46 pm

This is for a 2005 neon sxt ATX. I have a tranny leak and the dealer told me the solenoid is fine, I just need to replace the gasket. Can anyone find this part or part number and price for me?? Thanks in advance...

This is from the 2001 parts manual

4659982 GASKET TRANSMISSION $2.35 list

OEM dodge parts doesn't specify a year range so it may be the same for all years.

Be warned, there are 2 different style gaskets depending on whether your solenoid pack has been replaced before.....

No, I've never had to replace my solenoid pack yet, they told me all that was wrong was the gasket...

A common mis-diagnois is that the gasket is leaking. Chances are that the solenoid is leaking where the two halves come together. You can't change the gasket at that location, only the base.

I have at least two customers a month ask for the base gasket only to find that they need the entire soleniod.
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

True, some months we get more  And they never believe us when we tell them that the gasket won't fix the problem. Then they buy the solenoid pack
