And that is a HUGE reason why I don't take my car in for service even if it's a simple oil change. I'd rather do it myself and know exactly what was done to my car.

i love how they always attack jiffy lubes, like this doesnt go on other places. i used to work at jiffy lube, 3 different locations. i will say that some are honestly really good places, but some are just like the ones featured on the news. its really a hit or miss. its just sad that there are places like this that will ruin business for the good places.
one thing you should always do when getting your vehicle done at a place like that is stand in a place that you can see everything being done on your car and ask for the old parts, like air filter or fuel filter. its pretty obvious if they didnt change the trans fluid or the rad fluid.

I couldn't care less who gets ripped, but i agree that it sucks that all this gets dumped onto Jiffy Lube--'cause lord knows this probably goes on in other places.
Regardless, that's awesome! It's always funny to present someone with evidence of them lying.

only thing i ever let someone do to my car is change the oil. i let the dealership do that, and afterwards, i check to see if its a new filter under the car. Never had a problem once.
Anything else that has to be done to the car, ill do it myself.

You can do alignments, balance and change your tires? Man your good most people dont have that at homelilolneon wrote:only thing i ever let someone do to my car is change the oil. i let the dealership do that, and afterwards, i check to see if its a new filter under the car. I can't believe crap like that goes on. I work in the shop at my local Canadian Tire (yeh yeh..i know). Honestly, the 2 mechanics i work with would never do something like that, they're honest guys.
Even so, i do do all the work to my car myself. Even the tires and balancing haha, just a perk of the job i guess.

Grahamee Loob only charged me $280 to change my stereo fluid. It sounds awesome now.
Damn, an ex-girlfriend of mine had an oil change and a "checkup" on her 03 Stratus before she drove it 4 hours to central Vermont for Christmas vacation. They give her the car back idling at 2000rpm with a check engine light!! I took it out of the goodness of my heart (and in the name of Dodge) to check on the thing for her after she'd driven it like that for almost 800 miles. It was a vacuum hose party! A few were hooked up wrong, a few weren't hooked up at all.
Serves her right for dumping the guy that did all of her oil changes for 3 years, but Jiffy Lube can go get their faces fucked.
