I don't know the part number but I did ask Chris about it. It is roughly $200 iirc.

2k2 Neon R/T Here.

No mirror with Compass/Temp. I think you had to order the package that came with the leather seats.

From the window sticker for an '04 SX 2.0 Sport (Canadian Neon):
OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT
Customer Preferred Package 21G
Leather Interior Group $795
Seats- Leather Trimmed Bucket
Mirror- RR View, Read
LP/Compass/Temp

BRR should know the part number- PM him.

I had a quote for just the Compass/Temp mirror in US dollars somewhere but can't locate it at the moment. It can be ordered and installed if your car didn't come equipped with it (I plan to add one to my SRT whenever I can come up with the moohlah).

I assume that I could add it as well David. I found an outside temp sensor located on the front of my car, and I assume the compass is built into the mirror itself.

My Mom's PT has it, maybe I'll borrow hers and see if it plugs and plays...

Does that include the underhood sensor and wiring? My mechanic is trying to figure out where to put the sensor on my car. :-k

The temp sensor from the factory is incorporated into the under hood harness then taps into the dash harness and then roof harness. My white car came had it but when i did the swap I lost the temp sensor since the SRT harness doesn't have the option. Instead, I just cut the temp sensor off of the R/T harness and ran the wiring from the approprate wires on the mirror down to temp sensor where I located it by the CAI away from the heat of the engine. Works great :)

I believe the plug for the regular mirror and one with the compass/temp that plugs into the back of the mirror is different so in swapping it that may give you a bit of a problem. I'd have to double check to see if the plugs are infact different though.

Also, I think 00-02 the temp sensor wiring ran just about directly to the mirror where on 03+ years the temp ran into the ECU and then to the mirror. It's been awhile since I looked at it but I think thats what I remember while looking at the wiring diagrams in the FSMs.

Just adding to this I know in the 02's you buy the wiring harness and it plugs right into the module on the dash.

#4794 824AB No sunroof
#4794 825AB Sunroof

Temp sensor plug is right in the front air dam on the drivers side. Look right next to the fog light in the first opening it's pinned to the core support.

Used part number:

5293 138AA (same as the intake sensor on my '02. Part number on the parts diagram was a completely different sensor)

Mirror part number is above. I believe all the mirrors are identical as mine is from an 03 SRT.

Hey guys,

I need some help with the harness. I see the part number lilschmied gave, I'm wondering if the 2003 part is the same as apparently I've been reeding that 2003+ has the temp sensor feed into the computer first before the dash.

I have pulled the dash and it has the connector currently with maplights. It has Ground and Power and an Orange wire running to the connector which I assume is the temp sensor. The only thing is don't most mirrors use 2 wires for the temp sensor? I'm thinking since it feeds through the computer the sensor is already powered. Do you know how many wires are supposed to be on the harness?

I'm having trouble locating a harness as no one seems to know the right part number. They did give me a few, and I hope you can help me figure out which one is the right one.

4794825AD - Harness Sunroof, Illumunated Visors, Compass/Temp Mirror
4794824AD
4794845AB

They insist the first one is the only I should buy however I DON'T have illuminated visors. I just want the wire that powers the mirror. Also the cost for 4794825AD is around $130. Way too much for just a power/temp wire. The parts people say the 24AD and 45AB don't list Compass/Temp mirror so it's not going to work.

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. I hope you still need this info...

The part # for the 2002 (4794824AB) is only for up to 2002. The part # for 2003 is 4794824AD...MSRP $64.75. That is for compass mirrors. It will also give you the illuminated visor feed (since they were part of the same package).

I didn't know if you have a sunroof or not. The above # is for no sunroof. If you have a sunroof, use part #4794825AD...MSRP $130.00

I'm sorry, I don't mean to pry dante, but could you specify which of those part numbers is for the compass mirror with feed for the illuminated visors for 2002? I ordered PN 4794824AB and the harness does not have the illuminated visor feeds. Was it a seperate harness that I was supposed to get? Or did I just misinterpret what you said?

:-k In theory that # should be correct. I have seen mistakes in the catalog description listings before though.

WIRING, Illuminated Visor

4794 829AA.....With Sunroof
4794 828AA.....With Light Group
4794 844AA
4794 824AB......With Rearview Mirror Reading Lamp/Compass
4794 825AB......With Rearview Mirror Reading Lamp/Compass,Sunroof
4794 828AA......With Light Group
4794 829AA......With Sunroof
4794 845AA......With Sunroof, without Illuminated Visor

These are the # listings for 2002. I still hold to the 245AB # I posted, but the only way to be 100% sure is to get a VIN from a car that is equipped that way.

You need to have the correct wiring harness for the lighted mirrors to be direct plug n' play. There were several different harness' used for the various options on the neon, as noted above. I had to splice the power for mine into the +12v wire from the rearview mirror reading lamps. Works like a charm

Has anyone tried this to see if it works!!! I wanna get the mirror but also wanna get the right harness. I have an 05 SXT no sunroof. I already picked up the lighted vanity mirrors. Thanks
