Part Number Request: Remote Start for 2005 Ram (non-Sentry)

Post by jonnymopar » Wed Dec 14, 2011 9:44 am

My brother has a 2005 Ram 1500, 5.7L, automatic. I want to install the remote start system. He does not have a Sentry Key setup. There are two part numbers, one for the module and one for the installation kit (hood switch, harnesses, etc). He had exactly the same setup on his 2004. I got these two part numbers off of the installation manual, but they're not showing up properly on DodgeParts.com:

82208863AB - Remote Start Installation Kit (2004-2005)
82208859AB - Remote Start Reciever (2004-2007)

The installation kit is now showing up with "AG" on the end of it, and it is now a Durango part, not a Ram part. I really don't want to spend nearly $200 on something that isn't right. Could someone please confirm these part numbers for me?

I'd really like to have this figured out in time for Christmas! All help is appreciated!

Part number works here: http://www.moparone.com/mopar-parts-catalog.html

Tho it is just a generic description.

INSTALL REMOTE START $207.00

MODULE REMOTE START $70.75

IDK who else could help you 100%, other than Chris. (BRR)

Or calling your local dealer, and hope the parts guy is smarter than your average fifth grader. :D

Ok, I realize that using eBay as a point of reference is probably not a great idea, but I did find this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-2005-Dodge ... 0277407070

It lists it as 04-06 Durango (which DodgeParts does), as well as 2004-2005 Ram. So that's hopeful.

Sweet. I just ordered them. My brother's gonna be happy to have that installed.

He'll most likely have the opportunity to thank you in person next year at Carlisle.

Fellow 2GNers, I really need help here.

Apparently the installation kit 82208863AB (superseded by 82208863AG) is a vendor-direct part and the vendor, it seems to me, is essentially useless as of lately. I've contacted several dealerships about this item and none of them can get it.

Is there a way to check stock of dealerships across the US and Canada? It's looking like my only hope is to find a dealership that happens to randomly have it on their shelf, either resulting from a cancelled customer order or whatever. If you can, help me out people!

I think BRR is the only member that could do that. A helpful Mopar parts person would also do that for you too.

It is how I got the water pump inlet tube for my car the same day. The local dealer didn't have one, but they gave me the two dealers in Ohio that did have stock. Luckily, one was only 35 miles away.
