Part Number Request: 2004 2.0 TPS

Post by gcretro » Mon Jul 23, 2012 7:28 pm

2004 Neon SE.

I got this Throttle Pos sensor Delphi SS10404. The listing indicated that it fits 2004 Neon SE. But when I search it says it only fits 1995 & 96. :(

TPS for 2004 Dodge Neon?

Post by gcretro » Tue Jul 24, 2012 11:19 am

I got no response in the part numbers forum.

2004 Neon SE. I got this Throttle Pos sensor Delphi SS10404 on ebay. The listing indicated that it fits 2004 Neon SE. But when I search online including advance auto parts & amazon it says it only fits 1995 & 96.

Seller says this is cross referenced to Dodge part # 4874430

But mopar lists the TPS part number to be 4874430AB.

Can someone verify this?

Patience GrassHopper! :beatstick:

If I get a chance tonight I'll check.

Edit:
4874430AB is likely just a superceded number. The '99 parts shows it the same as the '01, two totally different TB's

:). Appreciate the help. So your research does show that Delphi SS10404 is compatible with 04 Neon SE?

I don't want an outdated one and deal with other issues. If there is any doubt, I want to return it. The seller says per his catalog, it is cross referenced to mopar part # 4874430

As long as it bolts on, and turns the same direction, there isn't really anything that would be new and improved. They all are going to be the same scale, +/- whatever tolerances there are. It is basically just a rheostat. Quality, I couldn't really say if it is better or worse, but it should work fine. The one thing I would check, is the connector pins: The 96 FSM shows the SOHC as being flat pins, and the DOHC as being round.

I am getting conflicting applications all over the web in a search. About all you can do is wait and see, then return it if it isn't correct. Or just cancel if they haven't shipped yet. But:

FWIW, Mopar lists the DOHC (ECC) as 4874433

4874430 does not come up as a valid PN anymore. Only with the AB suffix. So I would say that the number has just been superceded is all.
