I don't even really care how much I bring because half the time, I'm buying parts for other people who end up paying me back. It's like having all the fun of searching for good deals, but never having to shovel my own money out towards them (unless of course I find the occasional Daytona rarity).

Hotel for me is free, too.....I don't even have to spend any money on gas getting to it. Just fold down the front seat and add pillow/blanket.

The first two years I slept in the Walmart parking lot on the other end of town. I don't remember how I discovered I could just stay at the fairgrounds (I have a feeling they don't know I'm in my car). Security rolls around the show field on golf carts throughout the night. They have a nice shower in the restroom by the grandstands. I don't have to battle traffic either. I usually wake up around 6:00 AM so I'm always the first one on the showfield.

I'm just happy I don't have to sleep in my car like I thought I did at first .

I had already decided which blanket and pillow I was bringing hahaha.

OMG! I can't wait man! I literally talk about this everyday. This is gonna be so awesome to experience.

Carlisle, my bday and my family reunion all within a week of each other OMG!

Then BMT for the Air Force at the end of the summer :( This is gonna be so awesome!

No way- gotta have A/C, a bed and shower handy or no go for me. I had enough of sleeping outside and restroom showers (actually more like just spritzing the pits over a men's room sink  ) when I used to hitchhike in my 20's. W-a-y too old for that now.

So if someone shows up before you wake up, are they first?

And Gramps, I think pa acr has a few more years on ya.

And if I could make it this year, you both would probably slap this young woopersnapper.

You should stick your head out the window, and tell them to keep the ruckus down, you're trying to sleep!

I appreciate the thought, but it isn't really necessary. I just wouldn't feel right about it. Not knocking those who have taken donations in the past, it's just not me.

There are other underlying issues involved also, but it depends more on that, if we can at least show up for a day. If I can make it for a day, it would likely be Saturday.

Liz and Eric, my condolences on the SRT. :(

But we still have you, so that's what's important!

Carlisle is so close but it sometimes feels like hurry-up-and-wait. :runaway: Car goes to Ziebart on Monday morning and that's about it except for packing the night before I leave. Driving it only four or five times a year keeps me from having to do all of the expensive maintenance at the dealership that used to signal the beginning of :quotes: Carlisle season :quotes: . It feels really weird this year.
