2012 2GN.org Meet - Friday Night Idea
Howdy everyone!
So in previous years on Friday night we've always went to the Coliseum Megaplex for food and bowling. Last year ended okay but getting there was a challenge. I gave the owner a heads up that we would be there Friday so they could staff accordingly, they assured me everything would be fine, no problem. When we arrived no one knew anything about us coming, they were understaffed for our group causing food to come out slow and orders to be forgotten about. The service there has been really going down hill the past several years...
I've been really thinking a lot of what to do instead of that... One idea we came up with was to just hit a buffet style restaurant like a Ryans, then head back to the hotel where I can hopefully set up a screen and put on a movie, say Fast and Furious because what other movie is there to watch! If not a movie then another idea I had was to bring an XBOX and set it up to play Forza... It's an idea but it wouldn't be very engaging for as many people since only a few people can play at a time.
I'm open to suggestions...
I always liked playing bowling, I had fun as I think a lot of other people did... it's just the ordering of food and such that turned into an ordeal.
Suggestions? Go back to the Coliseum Megaplex for food and bowling or some other ideas? Keep them family friendly since not everyone that attends is over 18 or 21.

I really like the Movie idea to be quite honest Jason.
I'm down for watching movie and drink in the parking lot.
Also maybe getting food before hand at a buffet type place first and then movie

LOL!!
Honestly I was going to skip going to the Coliseum Megaplex this year because I enjoyed drinking and chilling in a hotel parking lot better

I guess that I must be the only one who didn't notice anything different about service quality/food issues last year so this is all news to me. I like being able to clean up after being at the fairgrounds all day and then hang out in an air conditioned building. I don't get to bowl other than with you guys during Carlisle so I would really miss this if the decision is made to do something else. Dang it...

I didn't go to the Coliseum last year because of the lack of harmony the year before...I'm kinda glad I did from what I am hearing.
I'm all for doing a movie at the hotel. Much like how we did pizza in the parking lot last year, I think it would be a much more group oriented event with the freedom to come and go if needed. Less traveling too.

If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...
I'm asking my brother if I can borrow his projector. Xbox on the side of the hotel FTW!
So many neons so little time.

Projector is a go. We can watch some old school movies on it or Xbox.
