PRESS RELEASE:
No. 43 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Up for Bid on eBay

Auction of No. 43 production 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 to benefit Victory Junction Gang Camp

- The 43rd 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8(R) will sport a one-of-a-kind B5 Blue paint scheme to honor Petty Enterprises and the legendary racing family

- Limited-edition 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 features a 6.1-liter HEMI(R) V-8 engine, one-of-a-kind B5 blue paint scheme, carbon-fiber-like hood stripes, a chrome fuel filler cap and a no. 43 of 6,400 dash plaque

- A VIP race package to the Dodge Challenger 500 NASCAR race at the historic Darlington Raceway in Darlington, S.C. is also included

Now the better news  The customer decided to have the car shipped to our dealership for the PDI and title work  The car will be at our dealership for about a week or so for the public to see it in person.

Of course I got pictures. A lot of pictures! The new owner is very cool and let us fall all over his car to snap pics, lick the paint, whatever :D I will post some here, but the entire album can be viewed here---->http://s156.photobucket.com/albums/t36/ ... ?start=all

I will apologize in advance for the less than stellar quality of these pics. I was using a Nikon S9 point and shoot, but I think they are pretty good for that

I had to get one with me in it

Some of the coolest things are under the car. Namely all the signatures of the build team scattered throughout the chassis...like these

Image

Image

And the picture is bad, but the rear bumper has signatures and sayings all over it! The customer said now he has to take the bumper off so he can get pictures of them all

Image

Oh yeah, and the car came with another autographed hood signed by Richard and Kyle Petty. And the box it came in...well, it's just too cool!

^ That's just the lid!

All in all, a very cool experience

Wow, that color blue is pretty amazing. Did they auction it off? How much did it go for? I bet that hood is going to be hanging on his wall lol.

BTW, who's that goofy looking guy in the black shirt? He probably drives a neon or something.

I think you missed that  And I do believe the customer is going to display that hood. Along with his 3, count them, 3 GT40's, 8 GT500's, 2 Superbirds, 1 '70 Daytona Charger, and assorted other Mopar musclecars

And yes, the goofy guy does drive a Neon

As far as why cool stuff never happens in your area Andrew...not sure. Maybe you should move out here...we get to do cool stuff all the time

This car will probably be on display at Carlisle in 20 years with extremely low mileage (if the guy is smart).

Why? I'm sorry I cant stand when people take a great car like this (not in my eyes but I get it) and keep it in a garage forever and then talk like they matter because they have some car at home that they have never driven. Right now I am looking for a GLHS and the day after I get it it will be at the track. I guess the point of that rant is to say that it is a car its ment to be driven that is the only way a car can truely be enjoyed.

If I had been in a better position financially two years ago, I would have kept my SXT for a DD and had the SRT out just on weekends. I know that you don't agree but the thrill I get from seeing an old 'Cuda or Road Runner, etc. is due to the fact that someone at one point decided to preserve a vehicle. That is what I was trying to get across in my post.

The thrill you get when you see a cuda or roadrunner is probaly pretty much the same as the one I get when I see a GLHS. There is a difference between a weekend car and one of these that you see on barret jackson with 150mi on it over 45 years. If you were to look at Jason's mustang or Bob's 911 they look just like collector cars.

He drives one every day.
