Yeah, that has been a issue lately along with it just dead hooking. Our chassis guys are sayin its because we dont have enough power just yet however the Hemi should remedy that.

Where is that? If that isn't a hole in the wall track, I don't know what is.
No such thing as not enough power, just not the right setup on the chassis.

are you racing a Chevy celebrity wagon?

I think its a Malibu wagon actually. I have some pics but nothing post worthy. As for mods, full tube chassis car, strut frontend, ladder bar rear with 9inch Ford. Mild 10:1 440 with cam, home ported heads, alum intake, Rons Flyin Toilet Fuel Injection, full MSD ignition, trans brake, 2 step, line lock. The whole 9 yards if you will. We collecting parts to build our aluminum headed 426 for next year. If you guys want some Hemi buildup pron Ill make a thread and get pics when we start on it. Thanks for all the comments guys and the track is George Rays Wildcat Dragstrip in Paragould Arkansas which is the oldest single owner race track and the only racetrack of any kind in the US Historical Landmarks list.

That should be plenty of power. Get the chassis right and no more wheel hop. We have had engines ranging from 350hp to 450+hp in our race car and never had a problem with wheel hop.

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the video, that I had seen the track before. Took a second to realize it though. Pretty badass. I love Barracudas....really I do.

What rear suspension setups are you guys running racer? All our cars are full tube chassis, strut front, ladder or 4 link rear with slicks. We have a chassis guy here intown that has raced forever tell us we just dont have enough power to make it transfer wieght so it just unloads the tires or just dead hooks. We've tryed moving the ladder bars in every hole, even made a new hole, changed springs, messed with the front and nothing works with this engine. We are going 4 link when we put the 528 Hemi in before the season is over next year unless we find another chassis to put our Barracuda body on. It only wieghs 2600 with me in it as is too.

We have a 4 link in it. It's not a tube chassis, but it does have extensive frame work to make 32x14 slicks fit and everything else work right on the car. It's an early 70s Vega.
In my personal opinion its time to investigate other chassis guys. There is no such thing as too little power when it comes to a chassis setup. It's just a matter of getting the setup right.
