This is interesting...
HOW THIS WORKS
Important Notice: This is not an instant purchase. If you hold a highest eligible offer on our "Insurance Auction" item, WE WILL PURSUE THE ACQUISITION OF THIS VEHICLE FROM INSURANCE AUCTION upon receipt of your deposit, which is usually due next business day. Make sure to send your deposit in advance or your offer will NOT be presented. If we acquire the vehicle, your purchase is finalized. If we don’t, you can leave your deposit for next offer or request a refund.
So the nearly $29,000 is for a deposit.

You are paying somebody $30,000 to go buy you a car. Oh and its a car that as soon as the DMV finds out about they will impound it eventualy to crush it. Couldnt happen to a better car either.

Skylines do nothing for me.
You can usually tell who grew into cars during the Fast and the Furious generation by those who swoon over them.
Yes Nice car. Not worth the drooling attention IMO

Because of the above comment, I'd like to further the idea of the Mox/Opi '08 campaign.
I don't understand the drool-factor over these cars. Cool. Yes. But so is any right-hand drive car to me. Hell, I used to drive RHD wranglers and liberties... THOSE were fun.

Id rock one in a heartbeat. I dont care if Im called a Skyline fan boy/ricer (Im Asian so its ok:)or anything. I just love the amount of ground-breaking technology in them and how they were over engineered. The RB26DETT was able to handle 600 from the factory and strictly designed for racing....
The car was built for the purpose of racing in the JTC Group A in Japan. It never lost a race - winning 27 races in a row from its debut, causing the series to be dissolved. The same essentially happened in the Australian Group A. It was the heaviest car in the series, yet it dominated through brute force paired with technology. The car was flat out banned from some endurance races in Australia.

basically summed up why i loved them.. if i remember right though, arent the r34 gtr's the hardest to get into the us legally because of the emissions?

First off Mox/Opi can I be secretary of defense

Second the only skyline that you can legaly get in the country ever was the R33 that is the only car that Motorex, the only company that leagly imported the cars had crash and emission tested. The root of the problems with the importation is that Motorex claimed that the R32 and R34 was the same where it is not. Any non R33 brought into this country is illegal and any car not brought in by Motorex is illegal and subject to seisure and destruction. Skyline prices have taken a bit of hit recently as several cars have been taken. Their is speculation that DOT will allow R32 and R34 brought in by Motorex to remain with their owners but the last time I checked nothing was finalized. Just because you got it regestered dosent mean its legal. The kit car scam dosent work and you will get caught at some point. Starting next year you could bring an 89 R32 in under the 20 year rule but that is about it.

That sucks about them crushing them. If I had one I would hide it im my shop and no one would know its there. Then trailer it to different track days
Plus I live in Michigan. No on gives a crap up here. lol Most of these rednecks wouldn't even know what it is.

Swap the VIN with a older Nissan car and say its just a different body or some BS. Although here in Arkansas, I highly doubt theyd come looking for you.

if its a track only car it probably wouldn't be an issue. the issue comes when you register it on the street.

It sounded like he would use that to put it on the street
I have a gift for all the GT-R lovers 31 page doccument from the NHTSA explaining all things that must be done to bring an R33 into full compliance.

I'm gonna join the Mox/Opi campaign on this one....they do absolutely nothing for me. Never have, never will. And in RI ALL right hand drive cars are illegal, except government vehicles (i.e. mail trucks).
