Lol I know. I've always liked them, and the boosted 2.0L Ecotec's not a bad motor, it spikes up to 20lbs of boost stock. Plus, this thing weighs within 50 lbs of what the Neon weighs. The FE5 suspension is pretty tight for a factory setup (very close to the setup I had done to the Neon actually!). The 2nd mod I'll do (1st mod is windowtint lol) is getting the GM LNF turbo upgrade which will put me at 290hp and 325lbs torque; all factory warrantied for about $1K including the install at the dealership!!! That's hella further dollar for dollar than I'd EVER get with the all motor setup I had in the Neon  I'm happy. :D

Nice! I really like those. I think the very first mod you should do is something to get rid of that antenna on the roof! Makes it look like an RC car! Nice buy though :)

I saw a new red SS one and it had the rear window delete. Great vehicles. I think they are badass. Why did you opt for the HHR as opposed to the Balt?
Thanks for going American! :headbang:

Neon
Curb Weight MT 2567
Curb Weight AT 2617
HHRSS
Curb Weight MT 3280
Curb Weight AT 3353
713 lb difference with manual transmission :)

Very nice ride!

you should drop it about another inch, and remove that dealership badge off the back and it'd be perfect!

I'll definitely chime in once I get the LNF upgrade. I figure do a dyno run before and after too :D . I'll wait until I put a few thousand miles on the motor though, I just 600 miles on the way to work today. Thanks for all the good words and chides (sullygully you ass lol!)

But to answer MyNeonSaysHi: the reason I went with the HHR SS vs the 'Balt SS is the room I get in back. My 10 yr old son's tall as hell (5' 4" and GROWING) and needs the room! Besides I've always liked them since they came out sooooo hey I went after what I wanted so I DON'T have to kill myself and my wallet modding EVERYTHING in the car. This is a great starting point for me and it'll keep me happy...... for a while heh heh. And as far as the weight comparo, my Neon weighed in at 3290 w/ a 1/4 tank of gas, no rear seats, empty trunk, + me in it when I weighed it at Englishtown in Jersey (I weighed 275 at the time) so I based the comparo on that (guess I was off a little bit :D ). Still it's a fun and COMFY ride! XM radio + Onstar FTW!

Sorry just a pet peeve of mine. The amount of boost you are running stock doesn't matter. 20psi might sound like a lot but it all depends on the size of the turbo. 20psi on a K04 or smaller turbo doesn't make anywhere near the power of 15psi on a 50trim or another larger turbo on the same motor. The amount of boost you are running usually means very little. Its about Volume... then you add in a number of other things like fuel trims, compression ratios...

If you're comparing apples to apples and talking about another car that has the same drive train and same size turbo then you can talk about how much boost you are running.

Well thanks for the... ahem :beatstick: <--- education Mox lol. I haven't owned a turbocharged car since 88 (I owned an '87 Lebaron GTC) so bear with my noobish turbo-related sayings. But I do understand what you're saying though

Sorry it's just one of my many pet peeves. I get asked every day "how much boost ya runnin' dood?!" I usually get into some long drawn out explanation about how much boost means very little then I see their deer in headlights look and I just walk away.

Thanks! Yeah I wanted the Blue Flash Metallic, but now the Victory Red has seriously grown on me! I had the 1st "mod" done yesterday too... Front side windows were tinted a shade lighter than the side and back windows, now it has that "blackout" look! \:D/

Wow, that looks good. I've been looking at getting another car in the next couple years and I may just have to add this to my list.

Excellent post. I make almost 700hp on 6psi and I get tired of explaining why. Well played sir

Damn 700 hp on just 6psi  NICE!? Is that in the Camaro or the SRT? If in the Camaro (I'm assuming), is it a procharger, or supercharger? I'm interested in learning all about the CORRECT way to make power with my car. Like I said it's been a long time since I owned a turbocharged car and back then I knew nothing about cars.

Thank-you. Its a huge pet peeve of mine and I can guarantee I'll have to answer the question at least 5 times a week. I think I'm going to snap on someone one of these days. uggh
