You're going with a DZ302? Or atleast a replica?
Those were only good at high RPMs, iirc.

^ 5.7/6.1 Hemi
It winds up being about the same as a 68-69 DZ302 4 bolt main 350 block with a large journal 3" stroke crank and standard bore (I at some point might become a smart ass do a 0.060 over bore to prove that a 305 can make power

)
Im willing to loose the torque as it looses me 500lb and Im going to struggle making that car weigh 3000lb let alone 3500 plus 8000rpm gets me to 140ish mph with the Saganaw 4spd Im stuck with right where I need to be for hills
Putting that together for the challenge might not work unless I have a go at turning 30 year old Konis into coilovers (new suspension will ruin my budget) so a 350 and some prayer might be what is needed for that

lmao he did it because i always called it that so it stuck and everyone kept calling it the slobalt so we made it say it. The guys on the cobalt forum weren't too happy about it hahahaha. They said hes an idiot and he shouldn't drive such a high quality car.
I would like a link to that...

Sorry to disappoint but apparently that thread can't be "found" by my buddy and the kid with the ss cobalt so i'll take it as it didn't happen. However i think josh should post it on the cobalt forum just to see what they say but i haven't seen him posting lately.

A junkyard 350 is soooo cheap. Just seems like a better option than a 302.
Why is that car so heavy? Even with full glass, steel deck and a 12 point cage our vega was only 2800-2900 granted it did have a fiberglass nose and hood.
How do you get the 500lb weight savings?

I have all the bits to do a 350 the dissassembled engine I got with the car is a truck 350. The weight stuff is not what the car weighs but what is has to weigh the car in solo/challenge trim(2500ish with me in the car) would be in GT-1 the fastest sedan based class (tube frames and big blocks are par for the course)
Depending if I get approval from national to run the monza in American Sedan it will be a 302 otherwise a 350

i guess i am weird but i don't care for trucks all that much, my younger brother has a 2005 ford F350 lariat turbo diesel with a four inch lift and 38's and it just doesn't do much for me, most trucks are like that considering how much they cost.

There's a Hemi Orange one down the street from my house, they're so gorgeous. I find it funny that they had such a tough time selling them because of the wing and now so many people want them.

The Wranglers are actually American Expedition Vehicles J8 Milspec. Technically they are no longer considered a Jeep product. It doesn't meet NHTSA safety requirements therefore it has to be sold without an engine or trans. Its sold as a "kit car" and you have to find an engine and trans. The two most popular choices are the 5.7L HEMI and a 2.8L Diesel. Any AEV independent dealer will install the drive-train. It comes with Heavy Duty axles (Dana 44 front, Dana 60 rear with lockers), 4.10 gears, heavy duty frame, Military tow hooks (capable of supporting the J8 during air-lift via helicopter), and a mil-spec air filter rated for 5 hours of run time in zero visibility dust storm. The chassis alone will cost $40,000 and after the engine cost, labor, and licensing the total cost will be around $50,000.
