True, but it's not the "fudging" that has me face-palming, it's having munchkins do that play at all. When I was 5 we did "Under the Sea" with the little mermaid not "Under Tony Montana's Uzi" with 'cocaine.'Passt wrote:What are you talking about? Thats pretty bad, whoever lets their kids do this needs a book or two in parenting.

I find this video rather interesting because you could put any word in place of Fudge or F*** (etc, etc), like Peanut-butter, and have the same result.Haganracing wrote:Midnight_Rider wrote:Fake or not, it is still inappropriate subject matter for children.![]()

Growing up I don't recall my Mom and Dad ever really censoring what I watched to only G or PG movies. I feel I was exposed to all sorts of movies and video games that were violent or had swearing in them. Even the music I listed to wasn't necessarily clean. I feel I turned out pretty well with a decent head on my shoulders. I always felt I could differentiate movies and video games from real life. While some movies are based upon real life and people do get murdered among other things from time to time. I didn't feel those were the people I should look up to and admire and what I aspired to be when I grew up. I don't recall ever being given 'a talk' about violence in movies or video games... it would seem I just always understood it... who knows.
Because of this though I don't feel like just because someone is exposed to violent movies doesn't always mean they'll become a violent person. I've known of a few people that raised their child in more of a sheltered environment and when their child had the opportunity to escape they seemed to go from one extreme to the other. At the same time though I'm sure there's a lot of people that have lived a sheltered life and when they had the opportunity to leave they didn't change a bit. So it could go both ways.
I think violent movies could help develop violent thoughts but I believe that may be the case if someone is already swaying in that direction. Those movies could just be enforcing those ideas or feelings. Maybe a child is abused and already has a hatred towards someone or some thing... at that point violent movies could help develop that hatred but the movies themselves aren't the ultimate cause of why the child is violent.
This is my opinion. I'm not saying I am right... I could be wrong. I am just stating my opinion based upon my own personal experiences. Your results may vary. While supplies last. Standard rates apply. See store for details.

I think that its really a balancing act. You definitely don't want a swearing four year old, but sheltering a child can be just as bad. I think that it is necessary for parents to talk to kids though... because not all kids are as smart as JimmyCrackHoe was when he was a kid.
