this happened while heat-molding my front lip the other day..
safety first, kids!
the gun barely even touched my leg too. just skimmed across it, and this happens. imagine if i left it there for even a second.

That certainly looks painful- try putting Bag Balm on it to prevent scarring (unless you want a "badge of honor" from working on your car

My guess is with a full thickness burn like that there is little pain of the actual burn. Just the pain of the partial thickness burn around it. Dry dressings, replace very often and go to the ER if it begins to smell bad. Good job.
