# 1). CONGRATS on the nice 'new' truck.

# 2). What happened with the Mustang ??
I hear your pain....

My own (first) '98 Neon was almost wrecked the day that I was bringing it home from the dealer !!

I was waiting at a traffic light, to make a left turn.
Some D!ck old man, (who was probably getting too mentally foggy to drive), took a WIDE right-hand turn..... almost into the front of the car.

When I say 'wide', I mean, WIDE.
I mean, he was TOTALLY the wrong lane... in my lane and coming at me !!
Fortunately, he was able to stop, before he slammed square into my front end.

I am sorry about the damage to the front bumper.... Fortunately, it sounds like it will be easily fixed.
It could always have been worse.....

Nice truck buddy! Looks nice, hopefully it runs good for ya. The 5.2 is a great engine, I hope the trans holds up. How many miles on it?

if i told you i sold the Neon, would y'all believe me?

basically, wet roads + Ram + Neon on tow dolly + Mustang cutting me off and STOPPING = 8,300lbs plowing the rear of a '90 Mustang LX

I LOVE this truck. has 142k on the clock. Dan, I may be speaking with you about advice, and parts sources for this truck in the near future.

Looks sexy! Personally I'd put some dick cepeks and some meaty tires on it and leave it stock ride height. Also if you want some cheap mods get the 5.9 ecu and run it, its cheaper than any tuner and has almost the same spark/fuel settings.

i wanna go for a "muscle truck" look, but tell me more about the advantages of the 5.9l ecu?

Muscle truck! I had one of those.
Anyway, the 5.9 has almost all the same equipment as the 5.2 minus the block and the ecu accommodates. Basically you get better pull on top end the Rev limiter is pushed up a little bit. At the local yards the ecu is about $50 and way cheaper than any programmer/tuner.
I did it in my 95 and my 97 and it was the best mod I ever did except exhaust. 3" dual chamber exhaust is win too.

Love the truck man. Only thing I don't like is the carseat. Not because of color, I just don't approve of small children (in a carseat) in the front seat. Not one bit.

I so have to get me a truck...

thanks for the info gtx, i'll look into that. any downfalls to it? like a decrease in fuel mileage?

sean, i would fully agree, if the truck didnt have a kill switch for the passenger airbag.

Well if it has a killswitch I'm less opposed to it. Just be careful dude!

yeah, the air bag on her side is off. my requirements when i was looking for a truck were that it had to either be old enough to not have a passenger airbag, have 4 doors, or have a kill switch.

and thanks guys. she's coming along alright. i really enjoy it. i still need to install my HIDs in the new headlights, and fix the front bumper, but this weekend we're taking it up to the girlfriend/ex-wife's grandparents' property in the hills for some exploring, should be fun as hell. we went up last summer, but the Neon was too low to get in very far and we hoofed it as far as we could in the heat, this time we'll go farther in, with a cooler full of chicken and beer

:) I have a brother who married the same woman twice. It's not as unusual as you all seem to think. Wish them well.

I too know the situation, and I agree it's pretty fucked up... but if Mike is happy then good for him. He's the one who has to live with whatever decision he makes... we just get to laugh at him if it blows up on him!

Chris, since I can't do this via BBm, I'll do it here: :thefinger:

Sean, since I can't do this via text, I'll do it here: :thefinger:

So, I've got a slight issue with the Ram... lack of power, strange new tone to the exhaust, very low and gutless sounding, and today it sounds like i poured a sack of rocks into the transmission. had a CEL, but it was alternator related.... not sure where to go from here, other than pull the inspection plate and see if i see somethign rolling around in the bell housing, and then drop the trans pan and look for anything unusual...
