I would if I had the money and know how. That said, they seem pretty common but I wouldn't know where to buy them.

About 7 or 8 years ago, I talked to a guy who had a jet dragster on static display, at a 4th of July parade, in WI.

I didn't ask how he procured the jet engine (probably military surplus??)
He told me he was running a turbojet from a Northrop F-5.

I half-jokingly asked him about running a J-79, from an F-4 Phantom.
He told me they were 'not legal' to run, except on a Truck chassis, because they were too big.
Heck, 'druther try a J-75, or maybe even a PW-F-100 turbofan.

That drag strip is in Norwalk, Ohio. I went last year and seen calvacade of stars which the driver and owner i seen was Bob Motz but he only has one jet engine not three unless he redid the truck. Bob has had his truck go 6.34 which as far as i know is the fastest one.

I can't believe they let that many people get so close to the truck

The truck is there, tons of smoke, smoke clears quickly, truck is gone. Awesome!

There are clearly 3 in the video. For those that don't know, Bob has been doing this for well over 20 years.

It's much better when they have "Night Under Fire" the blue trail of rings behind the jets is pretty awesome.
