Nice looking car. You obviously put your heart and soul in it. Good luck with the rest of the project.

mid 90 BMW's are a PITA no matter what.

Only solution is getting a 80's engine which is thirsty as hell or a 2001+ engine which require a shitload of computers to install in an old car.
eitherway, i'd rather stand clear from those machines, also because here in europe, it's 99.99% likely the car is at the virge of breaking down since the last owner (99% turkish/moroccan/wannabe tough guy) has been wrecking it since day 1.
Hope yours brings you better luck than the beamer-owners i know!!

^^ Agreed, it's hard to find e36 M3 that is clean. almost all of them have been owned by retards / tracked / wrecked or something else.
About swapping an S54 ( e46 M3 engine ) on e36 platform, it's not difficult at all. Now days it becomes pretty popular, there is even a kit for it
Ls1 swaps are also common

Got a couple updates. Most of the last week my car spent in the shop. Replacing starter / rear suspension (Bushings, upgraded to adjustable control arms etc.) and some paint work. Top of my rear bumper wasn't shiny anymore, so I decided to repaint it. here is some pics (sorry for the quality, took it with my cell phone):
Work begins:

Rolling into paint booth:

My side skirt cracked after a curb jumped on my way lol, so I was fixing it:

Sanding it:

All covered up:

Now the top looks like this:
