Random quotes from allpar.com... Kind of old info but it was new to me and maybe for you guys..
Ralph Gilles posted a brief Twit, saying that Chrysler had not released the SRT Dart’s 4.5-second 0-60 time picked up by some sources, including our own presence at the dealer conference in Las Vegas. That level of acceleration would be exceptional even for high-performance cars in the four-cylinder compact class, and many believe the actual times will be closer to six seconds. That would also make it easier for the car to be released with the more-affordable front wheel drive configuration, without severe torque-steer problems.
The 4.5 second time might be accurate — Gilles did not say it was or was not. We do believe 5.4 seconds is more likely, and in tune with competitive cars
According to our sources, the cars shown at the Las Vegas dealer meeting included both a Dart R/T, which is due to start full production in January 2013 (delayed from August 2012), and a Dart SRT4. Update: the SRT4 shown was yellow, with a black hood and wheels. Chrysler has started contrasting colors with some cars, featuring black roofs on other-color bodies.
Yesterday, we reported that the Dart SRT4 was shown to dealers. Today, we were told that it was now called Dart SRT, rather than SRT-4, and that the “black hood” is actually a carbon fiber hood.
