I'm especially interested to see how the 2.4L takes to mods. So far the 1.4L Rallye would be my choice, considering you can put a drop-in piggyback system in and have more power than a stock GT for less money. If the 2.4L takes well to modifications and it doesn't take much to get it over 200hp, then my decision might change.
I really wish there was more info on the GTS 210 car and what they did to get to that power level.

From what I understand, the GTS tribute car is a 2.4 with an add on computer program, CAI and Mopar Exhaust.

Right, but I want to know about that computer. Is it a Mopar? Is it a Magneti Marelli? Will it ever see the light of day? 184 to 210 seems like a pretty big jump for bolt-ons. Then again, I may be underestimating the tunability of MultiAir.

If CAI and Exhaust add about 10hp, it's not a stretch IMO for a computer tune to add another 16hp really...

I am crious on the real MPG raiting of these cars. I use fuellly.com to document my mileage all the time and the neon is getting some lame mileage but in comparison its not that horrible to the people logging Dart fill ups:
http://www.fuelly.com/car/dodge/dart/2013
They are in the mid-high 20mpg range. That surprises me.

Hey guys it's been awhile since I have been on here but, here is my "real life/photoshopped" version of the Dart Srt-4 sketch that has been seen around aka the one above, let me know what you guys think.
I have definitely started saving my money for a Dart SRT-4 because I know I want one no matter what lol.

Wow, low and mean. I like the Dodge crosshairs being below the bumper, down in front of the intercooler.

Needs to be lowered more. You could fit at least two sticks of gum underneath it the way it sits.

i think many people who complain about the offerings of the dart engines need to do a little research about the original dart. the original dart weighed in at an average of 3400 lbs and came standard with a 101 hp slant-6 with a 3 speed manual behind it. with that being considered, this dart is kinda nice weighing about 3200 with a 160 hp I4 turbo...

"back in the day", I owned a brand new 1965 Dodge Dart - there were 4 engines available: a) 170 cid 6 cylinder ... 101 hp b) 225 cid 6 cylinder ... 145 hp
c) 273 cid V8 - 2bbl carb ... 170 hp d) 273 cid V8 - 4bbl carb, 10:1 compression ratio, and a higher lift camshaft ... 235 hp .
My car had the 225 cid 6 cylinder engine, and it outran V8 Mustangs with 2bbl carbs - it cost $50 more to get the 145 hp engine versus the standard 101 hp engine.

real world dart update....
My heavy foot averages 28mpg on premium 91 or higher and 25mpg on 89.
My Neon had the same fuel economy in N/A form.....
Now I have seen 30+ highway economy but so did the Neon.....
And the throttle response issue, there was a software release for the MTX 1.4 Turbo Darts for a CEL for misfire issues, I had this software update done and it seems my throttle response issue is now gone(for now). And my fuel gauge not being that accurate was corrected also with a software update....
Soon I'll be hitting 4200miles and it is still not due for an oil change
The Dart oil change interval is anywhere from 5000-12,000 miles depending on driving habits and oil condition. The car will actually alert you when its due for an oil change. One of my customers has already had 2 oil changes done since last Sept and he currently has 20,000 miles on his Dart....

Considering all of the available options and advertising for this vehicle, I'm scratching my head about sales not moving as fast as Chrysler had anticipated. If there were a big "H" badge on it, I'm sure that it would be a different story.

I just saw that today. I wish they had the before/after diameters listed. I bet they could make even more money if they offered a service to bore yours as well as selling new ones.

The 2013 Dodge Dart with a 2.0 DOHC engine only has 160 hp & weighs 3,200 lbs - this is progress

i realize that you dislike the dart and enjoy to mock me... that being said, i never compared the new 4 door dart, with all it's features and tons of electronics, to your '99 neon that, considering it was an r/t, was likely a 2 door and was probably loaded with nothing for features due to the fact of being a neon. i'm comparing apples to apples. the 1960 dart was, more often than not, an under powered 4 door. thus this new dart isn't that surprising to me. it is what it is man. your complaining can only do so much, none of which is fixing the power/weight ratio. maybe you should just go work for chrysler and fix this all for us!

The dart also has a 1.4 liter engine to make 160HP vs your 2.0, and gets 41MPG highway as reported by the EPA's new rating system, and a 6 speed electronically shifted manual transmission.
It's not a direct comparison, you can stop trying.

His R/T was a 4 door I'm pretty sure.
Regardless of your opinions on the new Dart, it's difficult to compare it to anything. Compared to the old Dart it's worlds ahead, but it should be, it's been 50 years.
theColonel is trying to compare his top model R/T Neon to a base model Dart, which isn't fair either. Especially once you compare like for like. Try comparing your old R/T to the new GT and you'll see a shift in your comparison.
