What ind of job are you planning to look for? The cost of living on the West Coast is very high. Especially in the LA area.

So I have heard, but there's worse.

I have heard stories from folks who live there, about stooopid local CA. laws and ordinances.
Not to mention, TAXES and Plate renewals, will kill you.

Before making the move out to CA., talk to some local people who live there, and get their opinion.
( Relatives, Friends, folks on this board, etc.)

I am not saying that they will talk you out of going to live there - BUT you'll have a better idea of what to expect, and whether or not you will want to make the move; or what areas to avoid.
So if you do decide to go, you'll be prepared.

It would suck, to disrupt your life, and make the move out there, only to discover that it was not what you expected it to be, and you want to come back.

On a related note, I've got buds and ex's who used to visit CA all the time and LOVED it. Always planned to moved there and made a point to hype it up over IN. Then reality set in for saving, getting a job, cost of living, lifestyle upkeep, etc. . . Needless to say we're all still here in Indiana "technically" making more money.

I'll visit Cali, but I'd never live there. When a state has to write IOU's you know its not a place you want to be. I even went there for work a few months ago. I do wish I had more time there but I wanted to get home.
