Other car OT thread.
I had found a red panel van version, same size for a little bit cheaper, but it wasn't in as good of shape, and well I need the seats for my kids.
Picking up a hitch for it tomorrow! Going to do an external tranny cooler for it so the transmission doesn't go like it did in my 85 van. The stock rad/trany cooler separator broke and I had rad fluid in my trans, burnt it up.

The plugs? lolsmallblockfreak wrote:![]()
Do it!
This is similar, seats 15, dual AC, but it has a TBI 360 and a 518 4-speed auto with a lock up converter. I had an 85 with a 360 car and 3 speed and it got 10 MPG, I'm figuring this is about 12-13 MPG, not too far off from any truck I've had. I can't calculate it right now because the odometer just broke.theColonel wrote:"Back in the day" I owned a 1978 Plymouth Voyager Maxi Wagon ... seats for 15 passengers and dual a/c ... 7 mpg on leaded regular gasoline @ ~50 cents/gallon

The 1978 van was essentially a Dodge B300 (one ton) van with the 360 truck engine, had a Holley carburetor. - more low end torque, with peak horsepower at lower rpms than theINVUJerry wrote:This is similar, seats 15, dual AC, but it has a TBI 360 and a 518 4-speed auto with a lock up converter. automobile engines. It was great fun to drive, and accekerated well. Your modern engine with fuel injection should be more fuel efficient. I hope you really enjoy it ...
don't buy a 1978 model

My Grandpa had a '77 or '78 1/2 ton Panel van, with the 360. That thing got about 22 mpg. I loved that van. It beat the hell out of hauling something a ways in the pick up.
If I knew I could fit something in there, I was borrowing it.

It is to a degree. It's surprising moves out pretty well. There's still a lot of similarities from my b350 to the d350. I really like it. Working on putting the hitch on it now.theColonel wrote: The 1978 van was essentially a Dodge B300 (one ton) van with the 360 truck engine, had a Holley carburetor. - more low end torque, with peak horsepower at lower rpms than the

Ah yeah, the "dajibans". They all look pretty awesome. Not gonna lower it because I plan on towing but it crossed my mind. I think I'm gonna keep an eye out for the wheels off a newer dodge ram 3500.smallblockfreak wrote:Suppose to be a image of one lowered with aftermarket rims they race across the pond.

Damn things keep following me home.
So, the person I bought this from said it had a bad starter but ran just fine. We push started it and I drove it around some, then decided to buy it and tow it home. Went out today, threw a battery in it, scraped the paint offthe battery terminals he put in it and fired it right up. Drives great. Need to solder the cluster and change the rear struts and I'll be golden. Plans are to change the fender, get depo clears, put a PT shifter adn boogers in it, and maybe put my RT wheels on it.

Yes my 8 valve 2.5/5-speed minivan towed the neon 80 miles home. The hardest part is getting the whole thing moving in 1st gear. After that it's a breeze. A very slow one, but just fine.

I never realized that these interiors were actually BROWN and tan, I always thought they were black.

My son playing with the head rest, confused since my ACR doesn't have them.

I have fallen in love with the tan confetti interior.
