Other than features, picture quality and different modes, the biggest difference I found going from my XSi to the 7D was the feel and weight of it.

the built quality, was the real reason i choose the 7D. and the specs are fantastic. i could have picked the 6D ( full frame ) and extra but the legacy the 7D and all reviews. i know i picked a DSLR that will last me a long long time.

I was going to buy a battery grip but felt it was going to be to heavy. lol also order a spare battery. how is the battery run time on this beast?

I don't shoot enough to know, I got a spare battery as a promotion when I bought mine, but mine sits for weeks at a time, and the battery still has plenty of juice when I go to use it. I also didn't get the grip because I thought it would make it HUGE lol.
