I just used red gasket maker and it works fine. He's right about filling the hole though.
Definitely an improvement. I think I got a slightly different TB than he did though, mine has more of a velocity stack shaped inlet with ribs on the outside. I've got pics somewhere.
Also you can actually hear the car sucking in air....it kinda scared me at first till I realized what it was.

Ive still got gaskets here in front of me....
10 - TB to adapter gaskets
10 - IAC gaskets....**sold 2**
If you need any PM me....
As for any issues with this setup, other than the throttle cables slipping and thats why I doubled up on the clamps, no major downfalls since using this on my car since february. That was one of the other reasons on delaying posting any info since I wanted to make sure it worked without problems before posting any information.
Here are a couple of pics with it mounted in a stock location and hooked upto a stock airbox for an OEM look.

Started getting the parts with my brother. Today at the junkyard we got everything needed but the adapter all for $20. The adapter was an extra $15 Thanks for all the research and time you took to find this out.
The ribbed one is actually smaller then the TB he is talking about. I almost got that one til I measured it.

Well I was cruising home depot yesterday and saw something very interesting. I was in the electrical aisle and I saw an "A-L fitting for 2 1/2" conduit" that could easily be adapted for this project. Looks alot like the adapters that were being fabbed. At most, the inside would have to be ground smooth, since there are small ribs around the inner ring, and you might have to drill some new holes in the mustang TB, but it was around $20. I'd try it if I hadn't already found a solution.

What more pics do you need?khronus wrote:More pics pleaseeeeeeee, I need a new TB and don't have the $250+ to spend on 1, this would be perfect for me
this is why I need a new one:
It works just fine , but I rather get a new 1
When the mustang tb setup is done, it pretty much looks like what you have in your hands other than being broken....

Update: Finally fixed the lopey idle. While some of you may have this mod work perfectly, in my case, my idle stayed high and lopey no matter what and I threw a TPS code, even though I have a brand-new mustang TPS in there. Well, I tracked it down to the fact that the throttle plate wasn't completely sealing and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it, that is, even adjusting the idle set screw and snapping the throttle with the plate loosely screwed on to seat it didn't work. It was just a teeny bit too small. So, it was getting too much air at idle, almost like leaving the little hole in the throttle plate. Obviously mustangs don't mind having a little extra air so it didn't need to seal for them.
I solved it by taking some epoxy putty and plugging up the IAC inlet passage, and then taking a toothpick and poking a little tiny hole. This way it will get as much air at idle, between the leaky plate and the passage, as it's supposed to. And at part throttle it doesn't matter if the plate seals or not.
