No special tools needed, inserts are extremely easy to do. Be sure to realign the engine per the specs in the FSM after you're done.

Well you're a bit too late, there asian buddy.. I already bought mine last weekTam wrote:I installed my inserts a few weeks ago. It's super easy.
But the inserts don't really make much difference to me...it's barely noticeable. I'd say go with solid mounts if you want more effect.
Alright so back to this whole realigning the engine... what is this exactly? And my other main question: did you have to hold the engine in place with a jackstand or no?
Thanks again

lol I would love to get some solid MM's, but that's kinda spendy. So inserts will do for now.Tam wrote:Then you should return them and get a refund! lol
I did use a jack with a block of wood to steady it, but I don't think it's needed. Engine showed no signs of wanting to move when I removed the bottom mount with no jack under it. But just to be safe, go for it.
Sounds like a breeze. Thanks for the info man.

Do you mean this one ??gcretro wrote:What's the size of the bolt on the fender bracket for the top torque strut?
None of my sockets fit properly.

The passenger side is the easier side to do, so we will start there. Jack up the passenger side of the car and support it with a jack stand. The upper motor mount is just held in with two bolts. Remove those.
This should be 18mm, as I recall.
I just adjusted mine tonight, actually......

Yup - Use this as an excuse to get the correct 18mm socket.gcretro wrote:yes! that one. thx. Yes my 17 didn't fit and a closer non-metric one didn't either.
All the other major bolts on the motor mount struts, are 18mm, and some of the bolts on the trans are as well.
If you do any major work on a Neon, an 18mm socket is a must.
