How-To: Inner tie rod replacement with part numbers
How-To: Inner tie rod replacement with part numbers
I need P/N, pricing, and sources for the driver's side, steering, tie-rod end-link. Mine is bad and I cannot get an alignment till this is repaired. Dealer will only sell me the entire RACK/PINION for around $900.
My end-link @ the power steering rack is bad. The outer one (ball joint) is OK.
I am in a pinch here cuz I am SHREDDING my tires right now.
Thanks to all who help.

That would be AWESOME. I am getting booty raped by the dealer and my Big O pal is having a hard time finding one. The end-link @ the rack has all the play. The ball joint at the tire/wheel is ok. THANK YOU! I'll even buy it from your dealership if the price is right bro.

If you had the car on a stand and were standing next to the driver's side front tire. There is a knuckle right next to your head. NOT that one. It is the joint @ the rack with the boot over it that look like a CV joint. Thanks again guys.
OH, and $30? I'll buy right now!!! and pay shipping....Let me know man.

OK. Just makin sure. I found them on partsamerica.com.
MOOG P/N just like you said. Thx!
EV403 is "Firm Feel"
EV404 is "Standard Feel"
I am gonna' guess that the "Performance Feel" is unavailable?
Also, they list the same P/N fo reach side of the vehicle. The P/N only seems ti differentiate the "Firm and Standard" designations.
ANy more free advise before I buy? Thx guys!

That will be great, this has been one of the most disturbing problems for me... please let me know how it works. an idiot mechnanic wants to charge me 300$ for one side only, and 500$ for both. i want to do it my self..... but i'm worried about jacking the car high enough to be able to work comfortably.......
thanks,
thanks,
The way I troubleshot mine was to jack the car up and lock the steering wheel.
Then I got outside and grabbed the wheel/tire and moved it back and forth. ALL of the play/clunking was inside the boot where teh inner tie rod connects.
I talked to my friend at Big O (owner) and he describes the situation as a "cost" issue for dealers. It is easier and takes less effort to replace a whole rack (and rape you for it) than it does to replace an inner tie rod.
$900 plus labor for a "Performance Rack"
$70 for a MOOG inner tie rod.
Bastards.
I'll let you know how things go with the install and alignment and the clunk. haha
