So i blew my back 6X9's and i decided its time for a audio upgrade.

I am not looking for top notch speakers, just ones that sound better then stock ones.

The deck

(no amp)

So here are my ideas

More than likely. Almost anything's better than stock unless you have like a Premium Sound System from Bose or something like that. :)

You are better off ordering online and getting something brand name, but their entry level line. Sometimes you can find last year's model online at a steep discount. I used to know a couple websites for this stuff but to be honest I am out of the loop. You could always try eBay...

Get an Alpine deck! And indeed, better spend your money on some entry level brand then those wallmart things.

Buy Kicker.... wal-mart stereo equipment is all seconds...stuff quailty stero shops dont want.

my personal taste is clarion or alpine head units kicker or fosgate amps and speakers.

i have had alot differant stereo combos and alot of stuff works well together... just dont waste your $$$$$ on wal-mart stuff. Get in good with someone at a stereo shop. 8) I bought my head unit new (firsts) on e-bay and its been a great unit for a year and a half now.. clarion....

In my experience, if you're not running an amp, it's not worth getting super fancy speakers.

You should be fine with stuff you can find at bestbuy/circuitcity/etc. Listen to a few speakers on their boards and make a choice.

Pioneer, JVC, and JBL are good value-priced stock replacements.

I will say that once you find something you like, it may pay to look for it online. Check out sounddomain.com

okay well i ended up just getting a deck.

it is a sony xplode deck (23.2RMS and 52Max) wattage

my stock speakers get soooo distorted when turned up.
so i want to get new 6.5's and 6X9's but i dont want to hook an amp up to them. so my question is what are some speakers that would work well with my head unit?

links would greatly help if you found them somewhere at a good price.

thanks

I don't like sony anything but that's just me.

Wal-mart sells the low end of sony and pioneer. If you want some good stuff go to best buy or circut city. Look for sony there or any other name brand. They are all good and do the same thing. Since you are used to stock speakers any sony speaker from wal-mart will sound better than what you have. Unless you have the infinity speakers.

Also ebay or online stores are good but you want to know what you're looking for so you don't get the wrong model.

I didn't read any comments but save yourself money and don't buy any of that stuff. You're paying too much for that deck.

Check www.sounddomain.com or www.crutchfield.com or hell even ebay. You can get much much better stuff.

Don't rush this, you're making an investment.
