Small problem with stereo...

So I was driving home the other day, and my stereo just randomly starts to turn on and off. I figure great, my batteries dying. So, I turn off my lights, stereo, ipod, heater, so on and so forth. I look over, my stereo is still turning on and off.

I get home. Turn the car off, restart, runs just fine. Stereo is still a bitch. Ok maybe it's a ground problem.

Today, I check all of my grounds, everything is connected. With the car off, I listened to my stereo for 2 hours and it never had a problem... crack the garage door a little, start the car, and it still plays just fine. Now, I've let to take it for a drive again, but it seems to be working fine now.

Any idea of what's going on??

I've got the same one but the Motorized face, Deh-960mp. Actually looking at selling it right now but anyway, I havn't had any problems like that, mabye just a loose connection and when you checked the grounds it worked it's way back in?

Worked it's way back in? hmm?

I'm not having a problem with the motorized face. (I never open it up... no need to) It was just turning on and off randomly while I was driving.

So, small update.
I drove around town last night, no problems for about an hour.

While I was on the e-way, hit a small bump, and the stereo started being gay. I tried to time it with bumps that I hit, and no go. It would still just do it randomly.

Ideas?

Tonight I'm ripping the stereo out and checking everything on it.

loose connection somewhere in the harness, re-check all grounds. sounds to me like its a connection.

Yeaaaa... that's what I thought to. Connections are fine though.

I'll go back to stock for a little while and rule out any other wiring problems.

those pins in the harness housing, check them. they do push out sometimes without knowing but you never know. also, make sure its a tight connection.

Welp, ripped out my stereo, checked all my connections... everything was fine.
Noticed my battery is leaking at the posts and slowly corroding my 0g terminals. (put the neon battery in my winter car, and I haven't had a problem yet though... *shrugs*)

Put it all back together again, drove it for about an hour and a half, things went good. No problems... and I no longer have to worry about it since my car is now officially in storage.

I'm buying a new battery for the car next year anyways... Optima Yellow-top... and if the problem persists, I'm just going to start kicking shit.
