So my amp has been working fine for the past 6 months but for about a week now when i power on the amp a red light shows and then after about 6sec the light turns off and the amp shuts down. Whats suposed to happen is the red light turns to a green light. but now it just shuts off..i checked all the wiring and even regrounded it but nothing helped..what could be wrong?

sounds likes ou blew the amp....the red light mostly means its in protect mode. what could have caused it is pushing your amp too hard, or not setting the gain up correctly.

well im just remebering that my amp holds 4 Fuses and i lent one fuse to my friend about 4 months ago so now it only has 3 fuses....so maybe that could be it or maybye i popped a fuse..i never checked that...im going to buy some new fuses and re check all the wiring and see if that will help.

well it looks like since your were only running the amp with only 3 of the 4 fuses it need. its most likely that you need a new amp.
did you try replacing all the fuses? and put in all 4 of them?
what model number is the amp?

simple disconnect the sups and see if it still dose it, if it dose disconect the RCA's see if it still dose it, if so then the amp is bad

what are the RCA's?

teh RCA's is what connects to the low-level inputs on the amp, if you using the high-level then try that. when you disconect the input and the amp works fine 99% of the time this happens at work is the RCA's are grounding out eg/ a screw going though them

no. bestbuy doesnt fix amps, they only replace. if you amp has a warantee, you can get it replaced for likely, no cost...

yea if you got the 4 year plan or its within 30-days theyll replace it, we dont fix amps we actually have a seperate part of the company that we ship things to if an item is considerd "service" like alpine amps and fosgate
