Would the Polk db212-2 enclosure with subs be 720watts rms per sub or both subs combined?

http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/revie ... nch/db212/

I just bought a Polk db212-2 setup on ebay for $175 shipping included. Good price?

What sort of amp would you guys recommend to get the most out of these subs.

I hope they hit hard.

i have the same setup, and i paid like 450 at best buy. these subs are awsome!!!! the box is a little bulky and hard to get into the trunk, but i'm sure you will be amazed at their power. i'm only running like 500 watts total and they're soo loud that my rear vier mirror rattled loose and fell off. you should definately get some dynamat to stop the rattles, if it's in your budget. polk ftw!

Cool cool.

I just ordered an amp to go with it.

A Logic Soundlab ABX1402. It can push 700rms at 2ohms

that amp isnt going to be enough power...so i would try to cancel that order...

that amp would only give the subs 350watts, the 700w rating is its max which means nothing....cancel the order & get this amp..

Are you sure?

The subs are rated 360watts RMS and the amp can supply 350watts RMS. Isn't overpowering bad for your subs?

yea..but when you hook it up to that amp, you be sending the subs like 150 something watts. & you dont even know the full specs on that amp. you need 700-800watts @ 2ohm.

I think you are mistaken.

That Logic Soundlab amp is 1400watt peak and 700watts rms.

350rms x 2 channels at 2ohms

Or am I mistaken?

Check it out, this is what I bought.

whenever i buy an amp, i get one that has a max power rating of at least double what the rms on my speakers are. and keep in mind that the max rating is also with the amp turned all the way up which is never a good idea to do for extended periods of time. so for example if you get a 1,ooo watt max power amp, you should run it with the gain set about halfway up, so that gives you 500 divided by the two subs, so approximately 250 wats apiece. i would reccomend about a 1200- 1500 watt amp for that setup. you will avoid overheating the amp, get cleaner power, and have more to play with.
