Kicker L5 15" 750 RMS, is my alt. or battery F'd?

I just bought a kicker L5 15" sub that handles 750 RMS. I'm buying a kicker zx750.1 amp that pumps out 750 RMS, but before I do, I wanna ask if anyone has a similar set up in their neon? If so, is your power supply stock or did you have to upgrade? I ask because I didn't think about the alternator/battery when I bought the sub, mostly because I got it on the cheap...any help would be appreciated...

no matter how much power you are running buy a cap and dont go cheap on your wiring.

so I think after more research that my system will eventually kill my alternator. I think the stock alternator is 80amps. 40% of that would leave about 32 spare amps. My system according to crutchfield's formulas would draw about 36 amps on average. So the system will draw more amps on average than the alternator has to spare. Still would like to hear from someone with a similar set up, but would also like someone's opinion on how long I will have until the alternator's gone (and subsequently will I have to find a pt cruiser alternator) ?

Dont buy a cap...they're pointless. They do more harm then good.
I dont think you would mess up your alt or batt. Since your barely running over 1000watts RMS. If I were you i would do the Big 3 (upgrade engine grounds).

don't get a cap! Waste of money. The best thing that you should go with is a Kinetik high power cell. It is a good battery, and also the 800 series is the same as having a 100 farad cap and not some small 2 farad one. And like stated above....don't go cheap on the wiring. I am running a Kicker CVR 15 and I am running 2gauge wire because I ran 4 gauge and I had shorting out issues and my headlights would flicker like strobes, my tranny wouldn't shift out of gears sometime until I pulled over and restarted the car.

i would throw it in, if your lights dim too much or your still worried then this is what you should do.
1) DON'T buy a cap or a battery, they dont produce amperage therefore this wont do anything
2) look at the fuses on your amp and add 80 to it. if its more than 120 or within 12 of 120 you can buy an alternator from an 05 SXT (must be SXT) they came with 120a alternators. if its more your gonna have to look arround for aftermarket alts, i hear ohio generator is the best.
3) AFTER you do this upgrade your ground system with big3
4) if you want some clarity or want to squeeze as much as you can out of your amp THEN this is when you buy a cap.
and for the 100th time, CAPS DONT CREATE POWER THEREFORE THEY ARENT FOR INSUFFICIENT POWER SITUATIONS!!!!!!! they CONDITION your power system, remember not only your amp draws power from the cap, every electrical component in the car will also so get a GOOD quality cap with a descent capacity, usually the rule is 1farad for every 500w-800w rms. trust me you will notice a cleaner and/or stronger output from your amp.

see above. only post-may'05 sxt models came with a 120amp alt.

do not get a cap, and you should be fine running that 750.1. if u do get some dimming do the Big 3 or replace the battery under your hood. but the best thing to do is buy yourself a DMM and check the power output when running the amp full tilt. Chances are if your like most people that get car audio stereo's, your going to upgrade to bigger and better down the road, so a after market alt might not be a bad thing.

upgrade your battery to something really good. I recommend odyssey
runa 4ga wire from the alt to the battery itself
and upgrade all your ground wires
if you do all this you should get much dimming of the lights....least thats what it took for me to get rid of the dimming
No cap either in case you are wondering
