*i have aftermarket speakers that will handle the amps
*im only looking to have better sound quality. NOT BASS.
*the head unit is a sony CDX-R3300

ok so this is what i wanna do. i have 1 amp. (its like 140) i want to use that amp to ONLY run my rear 6x9s, using the rca cables. and i want to use the amp in the head unit to run the door speakers.

here arises my problem/question. so now i have the wires coming from the head unit that are meant for the rear 6x9s not connected to anything. and i want to get all the amps off my head unit to my door speakers. can i connect the wires meant for the rear 6x9s to the 2 front speakers. so like i would take the wires for the left rear 6x9 and splice them to the wires running to the left front door speaker. and the same for the right side?

It mite work. I aint saying do it. I wouldnt. Just mainly because i dont wana mess anything up. Jus put all four to an amp and call it a day.

Bad Bad Bad. You'll be running your head unit at two low of an impedance. Why not just get a 4 channel amplifier and call it good?

well see at my place of work. theres a guy i work with whos pretty much gonna give me the amp...and hes really REALLY into audio stuff. i mean like at his house he has a room devoted to movie watching...like even the seats shake when an explosion happens on a moive...hes got some kinda rumble pack built in the seat or something idk...but his truck as mother effin EVERYTHING in it...im surprised it wont shake my hand when i walk up to it lol. but yea he said doing somthing like that...he just said (i think) to splice the ground wire from the L.R. to the L.F. speaker...idk but hes really good. but i was just checking to see if anyone knows or if anyone has done it before lol.

don't do it. your best bet would be to run the rear 6x9 speakers off of the head unit and amp the front speakers. you sit in the front, not the rear, so that is where you want the most sound.

YES it can be done but not in the way your thinking

what you can do is run the front channel to one speaker and the rear channel to the other speaker heres how

Front Left + coming out of the radio goes to the speakers +
Front left - and Front Right + get caped (not together)
Front Right - goes to the - on the same speaker.

for the other speaker do the same with the rear channel

what you have done is basically bridge a 4ohm speaker across the front channels, it works well ONLY if you have one speaker connected or a TOTAL impediance of 4ohms across the channels

now what if you do it the way you show... well 2 things will happen, youll blow the amp on the radio, or nothing will happen, youll get the same level of sound if not less from attinuation.

in all honesty, you want better sound quality, the first thing you need to do is get rid of that sony radio, changing it to an alpine or pioneer will greatly increase your quality. also adding amps will make quality worse alot of times too if you get crappy amps, a better solution would be a better speaker with a high sensitivity.

I'm not normally a Sony audio fan but that is actually a decent budget receiver. (not everyone gets discounts or has a large budget ) Sony has made a lot of mediocre receivers so they still deserve the bad rep but some of them are getting better.

I ordered up my current Sony receiver after hearing it in a friends Neon. All he has in addition atm are Polk 6.5 components in the front doors. It sounds great and this is coming from someone that has always used Alpine in the past. (I love Alpine) It also has all the features I want for my planned setup. It honestly sounds almost as good in my car with the crappy stock speakers.

I had a full Alpine system in my last car which worked great except the CD changer in the trunk wouldn't work when it was cold outside.

run the amp to the fronts and let the deck take care of the rears and you won't need to worry about all the bridging and what not.
the rears are there for fill and some bass......so let them do just that!
