where to ground my amp

now i don't know if its the amp( have not used it in about 2 yrs)
but when i ground it to bare metal in the trunk the amp lights up but no sound out of the sub. the red light for the protection in the amp goes out ! it is suppose to turn green for power but isn't. anyone have any ideas?

I grounded mine in the spare tire well. Make sure its a good metal contact. Sand off the paint. Have you turned up the gain? Did you hook up the remote wire to the HU. Is your fuse good.

i took sand paper and got all the paint off! there is good contact , the gain is turned up 1/2 way an yes the remote wire is hooked up!maybe there is something wrong with my stuff keep in mind it has been sitting in a box for the last 2 yrs!

I grounded mine under the seat belt bolt. The best ground is usually a bolt the attaches to the frame.

I tried to use the ground that the previous owner had, but it was just in the sheet metal so it was cutting out a little.

if the amp is in protection mode and all contacts are good, the amp is not working properly. so you have 2 options - either have it repaired or grab a new one.

I had mine grounded to the rod for the spare tire. Never had a problem.

that sucks ass!! it worked great when i put it in storage 2 yrs ago. o well. it wasnt that great 2000 watt max 1600 watt rms forgot the brand name its in my car rt now but im to lazy to go look. ....

pioneers in the front doors dual (50 watts rms) in the rear deck ( wanted pioneer but they where all sold out the ones i wanted)
