i'm just going by what my friend told me, i'll post a pic of the amp because i'm not sure what the product number is, its a bazooka and he showed me it running on this sub

it sounded great and the sub was not struggling at all.
sub systems
actually sound quality is non subjective. a sub that has a high sensitivity rating with a good x-max and surround that can handle alot of movement will output a way better and clearer sound therefore increasing its db output.
same goes for an amp, a amp that dosent clip is a higher quality amp than one that dose clip, this however is majorly dependent on your source unit, but this is assuming your source unit dosent clip which they are some out there that are very affordable.
bottom line, a "quality" setup is not brand based, a true quality setup si a setup that can process and reproduce the sound wave perfectly and there are affordable setups that can do this, but the majority (99.99%) arent in this price range. to find something like that in this kind of price range your gonna have to find a new brand that is harcore about clean power and clean processing

after reading this entire thread through i though i would post the systems i have had. the first system was:
2 12's directed extremes 250watts rms in a sealed box
directed 750d class amp pushing 1200watts at 1 ohm load.
i was running each sub at there max and never peaked either sub or anything.
my second setup is a cheaper.
1 12'' lighting audio sub from meijers
in a bassworx sealed box.
powered by a scoshe 350 watt amp.
a 1 ferrad capacitor
this system moves and sounds just as good as my first one which i dont have because it was stolen. however the neighbors do not here me rattle down the street anymore. but the bass in the cab of the car has not changed loudness.
hopefully this will help you build the perfect system to your liking i personally like alot of bass and would rather not be heard coming down the street however if im sitting still you can hear it. so i personally like my second setup way better than my first although have a little stronger amp two power two subs would be nice!

i am aware of that it is just sitting on the side of the box. but when the amp ceased to live from my friend deciding to short it out. i upgraded and used it now im stuck again because my sub hit a screwdriver my roommate left in the trunk after we did a house call and punctured the rubber ring so im stuck with stock bass once again.
