so i've been researching hid's and i'm curious wat the relay does i got my hands on a kit for a good price but theres no relay, i'm juss curious as to wat it does from what i can get out of using the search button it ensures you don't fry your wiring but wouldn't that be a fuse?

Pff, no one wants to search for your sticky that explains everything you could possibly want to know about HID wiring. Even if it is a sticky right there in plan sight.

That's just crazy

Its really the warmup on the HIDs that has the high current draw. So you just plugged the kit into your 9007 connector? Flashing the highs would be awful for the HID ballasts, and it would also invoke the higher amperage warmup condition. If you are running this setup I suggest that you use your highs sparingly.

If you don't want to do the relay wiring yourself, just purchase one of the relay harnesses of ebay. Not only will it bring peace of mind to your wiring, but you'll get longer life out of you MFS.
