Headlight Problem

Hey all,
Sorry if in wrong section but I need a quick answer.
I have a friend with an 01 Neon R/T and his LOW beam and fog lights will not turn on but the high beam will work.
The cluster indication light for the fog lights will not come on either.
We have checked all the fuses in the car and under the hood. We have visually inspected the bulbs as well and the filiments are fine, no breaks anywhere.
I am coming up short on idea's of what is wrong here. Can someone give me a hand with this?
Thanks
Jordan

sounds like it could be the MFS ,but i dont know much about what the MFS does/controls really so someone else can verify that or not

If not the MFS, there is a relay in the PDC, but I think it's mainly for the high beams, but I could be wrong.

I bet the MFS (lighting/signal multifunction switch) and/or the wiring connector to it has overheated and partially melted. Pull off the steering column covers, disconnect the connector, and inspect it for damage.

Looking at the wiring diagram, I'd put my money on either fuse 20 under the hood or the MFS.

You can see here that if the mfs failed, the cluster light would not turn on. If you have DRLs though, I know the cluster has something to do with the control of them. That would mean you could possibly have a failed cluster.

most likely melted connector. this happened to me no low beams only highs so i had to wire a new connector, it was pretty easy

Try to check your installed headligth maybe the low filament is broken or burned for the use, and check the fog ligth ones too.

sounds like its for sure the multi function switch, same thing happened to me. its a quick easy fix as long as the plug doesnt melt.

It happens to all of us. Mine went. My highbeams would work, but only when I held the switch on. Turns out it was the MFS. 45 minutes and $78 later, car was good to go. The connector didn't like to come off since it was melted, and I broke a couple clips in the process, but at least I had lights.

Turned out to be the MFS. I guess the dealer gives you one that has only 2 coloured wires (orange and purple) and no wiring diagram.
We having problems getting the drivers low to turn on.
