Factory CD changer's dead??

Ok so I'm switching out CD's in my car the other day and the changer just stops working, period. The light on slot #1 started blinking and I can hear the changer motor "whirring" but it's not catching the CD that's in there. I disconnected the battery to reset everything since this happened before and this trick worked. This time, nothing

. When I turn the car off, you can still hear the motor whirring in the changer but now I have ALL the CD tray lights blinking like a damn caution sign (slots 1+2 blink then slots 3+4)! Should I just yank it out and pull my CD's out the hard way? Help!

Also I pulled the trim panel that surrounds the CD changer off, and I noticed what looks like an IR sensor at the top of the trim panel that I never knew was there! Anyone know what that's for

? I can take a picture of it if you guys need to see what I'm talking about.

Hmm, that's enticing... anything you're looking for in trade? I know I'd need a different harness though, I have the factory 4 disc changer...

mine also did that, is there a way to fix it?
I personally disconected the battery. Removed it, plug it, unplug it. All wires look okay. It's just quitting on me f**k the neon AGAIN!

Not that I know of Xtian

. I just took out the CD player and installed the CD delete tray I had laying around. I got all my CD's out, but it took some umm... 'dismantling" of the CD changer 1st lol. Honestly though it looked like the drive that swaps CD's slipped and all the CD's were just sitting there? Now I'm just waiting to grab Dr. Gonzo's radio + CD changer for an update

. Thank God I have a tape deck in my radio or I'd be SOL!

Yes, it's kind of trippy to be listening to my old mix tapes again... I still remember the damn songs word for word!
