If I remember correctly some pts came out with a 140 amp. Not sure but that would definetly be an upgrade.

No jacks or anything are needed just have to get a lot of stuff out of the way (cruise control box etc.) and a lot of manuvering cause its ina weird spot.

Plan on a bit of beer as well

No jacking, no lifting the engine, nothing like that. Just takes a little time to unbolt it all and wiggle it out. Generally takes me 10min or so to get one out.

Ok, so having an alternator that does more Amps isn't a bad thing? And whatever the AutoZone guy said about having a shop do it because the engine needs lifting, is all false?

Think someone could take a picture and show me exactly what the alternator looks like? lol.

No more amps wont hurt and there is no lifting. They hire young high school kids there nowadays


I can take the pic for ya tomorrow. Unless someone beats me too it.

yeah get a pt cruiser alternator. a certain year has a higher amperage. i had to get one.

and to change your alternator there are three bolts. but first take off your passanger wheel and you will be able to get to it.

you can pm me for a more detailed explaination if you havent already changed it or got it changed

Nope, haven't gotten it changed nor do I have a new alternator yet.
