Battery Light

Post by UriahRR » Sun Aug 23, 2009 10:56 pm

So a couple months ago, after running my car in auxiliary mode for a while, I found that I couldn't start it up afterwards. I had my car towed to the garage and they said there was no problem. They ran it for a long time on full AC without issue.

Now today, after months of having to keep my car on to avoid using auxiliary mode, I finally tried it again. I ran it in aux mode for about 5 mins, but the AC didn't get cold, so I turned my car back on. With the AC still blasting, I ran it and my radio for about 10 more mins. Suddenly, my fears were confirmed. BONG - battery light. I turned off the AC, took the Head Unit faceplate off, and let the car run for a while to let it build up power in the alternator or where ever it's being drained.

So, everyone, what sounds like the problem?

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a volt or a multimeter?

It's either bad alt or bad battery.
