Okay, so i'm currently working on two R/Ts.
One is an 02, the other is an 04.
Factory door speakers in the 02 are blown, so I wanted to swap them with the factory door speakers in the 04. Looks like the speakers in the 04 are different than in the 02. Is this normal?
Not only are the 04 speakers plastic, instead of metal, but the magnets are at least half as small.
I thought all R/Ts had the SXT speaker system. Am I wrong?
Both speakers look like they have part numbers on the back.
The 02 speakers read:
W652J4C-5
Made in Mexico
366700 1282 31
04794 031AC
Premium LH
Where as the 04 speakers just read:
7026AC
Made in Mexico
366700 2456 281
04672647AB
What's the deal? The 02 has the SXT speakers, and the 04 does not?
Should I just go pick up two new door speakers for the 02 at Best Buy?
Was basically just trying to save money by swapping 'em. But if they're not gonna match, no sense in doing so.
Speaker problem :/

Doubtful, but then if you are running the oe head unit, you may/may not notice.
I replaced mine with a set of Kenwood due to one failing shortly after I got the car. The sound is so much better.

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

DCx did some changes to the magnet size over the years. The first time I really noticed it was when I was picking up a bumper from someone that had an '04 R/T. We were loading and maneuvering it into the trunk through the pass-through when he says my speakers are huge compared to the '04 R/T. I never paid much attention so I had to have a look and sure enough, the magnets on his were tiny.
They'll work but also, you'll notice the plugs will be different.
You can buy a wiring repair kit for an '03+ Neon which comes with wire and the '03+ style plugs and solder them on. I had to do this when I installed the Kicker speakers in my R/Ts.

DO NOT INSTALL THE PLASTIC ONES! They do not hit nearly as hard as any of the metal body ones. Best Buy also as a kit for installing speakers into Chrysler cars. Thats how I got my crappy plastic body speakers re done for the metal body ones.
