So i guess i'm in the market for an HID kit to go into my fog lights and
head lights, but i have a few questions first.

1) probably a dumb question but i gotta know, are there 2 different bulbs
that run the low beam and high beam? or will just one bulb do both?

2) if there ARE 2 different bulbs for low/high beam, could i run stock
low beam and HID high beam?

3) to run the HID's i need the bulb, the converter, and wiring, correct?

4) i think im going with 6k, or 8k. tell me if im wrong, but 6k is brighter,
8k is bluer? and how hard is it on oncoming traffic with 6k?

4) could HID kits go into halo headlights?

5) apporx. how long do HID bulbs last?

HID's cannot be turned on/off like high/low beams. You will destroy the bulbs. They should be powered on and left on until no longer needed. (Car is parked for a few minutes or longer)

thanks for all the feedback. i tried using search and was finding little
information, so i thought i would just wrap up my questions lol. i just
started research today, so im just really trying to figure out what hid's are.

so if i had my lights on, and i jumped out of my car to buy a soda from
the store, would i leave my lights on to prevent "destroying" them? and
they practically work as my low/high beams at the same time now?

Your bulbs in the car are dual filiament.

HID's do not have 'filaments' per se... Unless ou buy a bi-xenon style HID, that has a Hi/Low you will not have the ability anymore.

If you do buy one, they usually have a mechanical shield that moves to simulate the hi/low filament of a standard halogen bulb.

Also, HID bulbs are not meant to be "flashed". They should be turned on, allowed to warm up and then left on for a period of time. They should not be flicked on and off or it will significantly shortne the life of the bulb.

low beam is just fine. Who needs to see bunny rabbits anyways?
so just turning them on and off a lot shortens the life?
