OK, so I just found some service manual for the 00-02 Neons. As I was going through it (Still am to be honest) I came across one section that really peaked my interest. It is a headlamp leveler. I have NEVER seen a neon with this feature. Does anyone here have it? Does it work good? Or what?

yeah - it is SICK that we need to have it so we cannot buy different headlights from mpx or such.
stupid feature if you have coilovers.
but with the stock suspension maybe not that useless:
you can turn down the headlights if you drive with full load on the rear end (4 people, full trunk) - so the oncoming traffic will not hate you.
good for one more thing:
in the inspections they also check the headlight adjustment.
and mostly they turn down the headlights too much so you will not see anything at night.
But you can cheat!
If they tell you to turn the switch to "zero" - you just turn it into position "1" (mostly positions 0-3) - and after inspections you can turn it back to zero and are still fine.

But in the end it is just one more thing that can break (and that stupid shit breaks very often either because you use it to much and the little plastic gear wheels break or because you use it never, the gears stuck - and break the first time you use it...) and helps you to fail inspections.
REALLY: 2 or 3 years ago they changed the inspection rules -> headlight height adjustment fail = fatal problem = no inspection tag!

Motor looks like this:

It replaces the manual adjuster.

Oh - european headlights are H4 and asymmetrical - so they have an adjuster for vertical and one for horizontal alignment.
Furthermore they have a socket for a little 5W bulb - standby light here must be white, orange is forbidden...

Hmm, hard to see in this picture - look at the silver cap in the middle and then look into OSO direction...

So wait, your housings use this style of retainer,

or is it sealed better, like the 9007 bulbs?

@Jenni, you should be the first to create an aftermarket headlight with these in them :D "Retrofit whaaat?" lol

i installed that into the 2003 headlights for inspections. PITA.
i could do that for the retrofit hids - but Johnny Law wanna have automatic height adjustment for hid headlights - and that is ~450$ and definitely too much.
