Ok so I'm driving down the road today and I look down and notice my speed is at zero, i gotta be doing 60-70 kmh. I get to work and it was dead all the way there. I shut off the car and start it again andnmove a bit and the speedo works. Ok, it's alright.

I leave work at the end of the day and head up the highway and the speedo is working, for a while, then it starts popping from 0 to 200 and back and forth, the car stuttered a couple times ( I was doing around 120 kmh ). It didnt throw a code, so no engine light. Slower driving after the high way it seemed ok, I didn't have anymore issue after I left the highway

Any ideas.

VSS sensor. If your car is an '02 up ATX, it might have been the trans freaking out. It needs the speed sensor to verify the output speed compared to input speed. (as well as the speedo output from the PCM)

The Vehicle Speed Sensor is also used by the PCM for other things, but I don't believe it will cause any issues as far as the engine running. Some ppl have unplugged it to defeat the speed limiter... But me thinks this would only work on non 4 speed ATX's.

Check that it is connected securely, and the wires are good. On 4 speed ATX's (41TE/40TE) it is under the battery tray. The 5 speed, and 3 speed are on the diff housing/axle housing.
