How To: Installing R/T Side Skirts from dodgeparts.com

Post by unleashedcc » Wed Dec 27, 2006 9:11 pm

My girl recently bought these for 300$ painted for Xmas.
It brings:
-4 Sideskirts
-4 Flat "hooks"
-Bag of screws
-Instructions

Heres a pic of the hooks. You can also see my antenna delete plug :)

Image

First:
Jack up the car and remove both front and rear tires for more room. Remove the front splash shield.
Follow the measurements that you need to take as far as were to place the hook on the car and screw them on

Image

Image

After screwing both front and rear hooks, place t he skirts and clip them in. This will secure the top half of the skirts, or you can use 3M double sided tape. or Both. Screw in the rear part of the skirt to the rear fender border, and the front to the front fender border. My front holes matched up to my aftermarkets not sure if stocks will.

Image

Once the top half and corners are screw, screw the other 7mm bolts under the car to secure the skirts from the bottom.

After a good 1 hour while taking your time this is the final product.

Image

All the holes are not pre-drilled on the car. You do not need to drill before, no need to. DO the measurements, do not skip and just place the hooks, they need to be were they go for better support.

GOOD LUCK

PS: If you like your front splash shields you will have to cut the "mud slap" thingy to fit the front of the skirts, like this:
I cut it with a normal dremo

So those hooks came with the side skirts you bought? Do you know where I could get them from, or could I just use 2 way tape instead?

Hey is it okay for me to ONLY use 3m tape for these? I really don't want to but i'm lazy as shit and I want to see if it'll work. I know my CF eyelids are COMPLETELY GLUED TO HELL with my 3m tape.

I guess I just don't want to go through the drilling/measuring bs...

I'm doing this right now, I don't get how the skirt is supposed to attach to the black strips. I see that it is supposed to slide in, but what is the trick? Every time I get one side in, the other side pops out.

Oh well, I gave up on that frustrating shit and just screwed it in with the drill from the bottom holes.

Drilling Skirts

Post by Mopar65 » Tue Jul 29, 2008 10:23 am

Just ordered my discounted skirts, but I'm kind of scared to drill into the car because of possible rust problems

If you have the screws that come with the kit they are treated with a sticky gel-type substance that I assume is there to prevent rust.

The instructions to install the skirts were beyond useless. I'm going to get mine molded in at some point

I didn't end up following them anyway. I didn't like what they wanted you to do, so I improvised and did what I thought they should have told you to do instead.

I just bought some r/t sideskirts from the junkyard and saw that the r/t came ith holes drilled into them for the christmas tree clips. Can I just use panel screws with silicone or can I just drill holes for the clips?

If they still have the clips, just drill the holes.

I have some R/T sides coming and will get some pix up soon. Hey irony did you swap out struts before putting on the alleged springs or just threw them onto the stock SXT struts. If so how is the ride?

Don't know if I want to drill holes into the side of the car. Do you have to drill anything with the SRT sideskirts?
