The first post pretty much answered that question. You could take it apart, if you really wanted to hate life that much.

I used it on the outside then clear coated the whole lamp. If you don't plan on clearing it, then it's best to do it from the inside.
For those that are worried about fading or spraying the whole lamp and it being too dark, or there being too much variation between the reverse area and the rest of the lamp, here are mine that I did about a year ago. Both areas look exactly the same.
Here's when I first painted them. As you can see, they were quit dark, then after a month or so they lightened up/faded to current state.

That paint isn't terribly glossy or weather resistant. Without clear it's gonna look poopy (IMO).jbarker4 wrote:You know, I saw that. But complete went blonde right over it. Thanks. I didn't see anything about clear, guess I wouldn't need it?
LOL, I offer a service (I'm a vendor on SRTforums). I don't do them in the winter though, as my garage isn't heated (yet).FAC3L3SS wrote:Wiggz ZOMG! I'll trade my stock tails for your red ones!
i wish i had done the whole tail light. i taped it off and it comes out un even. still looks sick. get some pics up when i get a chancewiggyx wrote:If you're doing the red it's a lot easier to just coat the whole tail lamp. It requires less masking and it eliminates the slight ridge caused by the thickness of the paint on the reverse lamp.
