$20 LED 3rd brake light

This one is easy and everything you need is available at Home Depot/Tractor Supply and the local AutoAdvancePepBoysZone.

Step 1 - 8" "Flex LED" retails for $14.99 at parts store



Step 2 - Cut scrap piece of metal to fit into housing. I used aluminum that I bought at TSC for $5 for a 4 ft length.

Step 3 - trim metal to fit housing, then glue into place. tape lights to metal



Step 4 - put housing and lens back together

Step 5 - test to make sure no wires are pinched.



Step 6 - install lens in trunk and splice into wiring for stock 3rd brake light. Black is ground, black with white stripe is positive.



.. and that's it.

Mondo revival, but i did this today. Instead of splicing into the 3rd brake light, i spliced into the tail lights. I now have a 3rd brake light, and each side of the 4 inch section acts as another turn signal

who cares about grave diggin when you do a cool mod imo, you have any pics? did you split the wiring to get it to split for turn signal?.

This exactly. They are 2 4" sections, wired individually into each tail light. Painted the inside housing black, and it looks great. 4 months on and going strong..except for the fact i broke the plastic housing and had to jb weld them back together.

This is highly unusual Abs this light comes in a one piece unit ,so no individual led can be replaced,it will be covered under the cars 3 years warranty.
