carpet removal with photos

Post by greybox » Fri Jun 03, 2011 9:08 pm

I searched all over and even though its not too hard to do I couldn't find all the photos I wanted to have before I started-so I documented as I did it!

Image
start with a box for all the crap you didn't expect

Image
the 4 little screws holding the back of the console in

Image
the 2 front screws

Image
the door moldings, and the clips that hold them

Image
with the console removed-access to all the shifter parts

Image
the rear seat pulled up....thats all you do, just yank it up from the front edge

Image
the front seat removed on one side

Image
the torx bolts need to be taken out to remove seatbelts-too tough to do with seat belts in place

Image
there are little plastic clips that help hold the carpet in

Image
the carpet is tucked under the dash area, cut it as close to center and pull away from hump

Image
carpet folded back and drivers area is now clear

Image
both seats removed, 4 bolts each, carpet folded up and taken out back door

Image
shifter boot has funky tab on front, boot pulls out releasing clips

Image
seats bolted back in as I am not putting carpet back until I find leaks that caused mold to start with

oh yeah, the front of the console seems wedged in there pretty good...no other screws, it just fits tight. and the shifter needs to be pushed down and turned to release it.

What, like lint? Maybe a couple dead bugs? A leaf? Some small stones perhaps. A single hair?
