I actually notice the white light in my mirrors almost more than the taillights, lol. You're welcome :)

There are different styles of 3mm and 5mm bulbs. I had an autolumination style which is a perfect cylinder, it's just longer than the 3mm. It's not the typical diffused 5mm that you received. They came in the same base. I have pictures of both types of bulbs that I used that I can post up. For whatever reason the base on that 5mm is too large.

Alright thanks. I'd imagine the resistors that come with it for 12v should be fine? He doesn't say what ohm they are though..

Oh ok that makes sense. I forgot, these are the ones you had to get from the other site. Well I mic'd the stock one and compared it to SBL's specs and the 4mm base should work (I hope). We'll find out in a few days! I'll let you know what happens so you can add the info to your first post.

Hey if it saves money it saves money. I can't see how much worse they would really be. Unless there's a test of some sort that you know of that proves they're subpar?? I'm curious myself.

This thread is awesome. For the longest time I was thinking about how the interior lights don't match. The deck I'm looking at has blue lights, the cd changer control and remote is the same blue but the cluster and atmosphere controls/ shifter base (ATX) are all green.

The color I'm looking for is closest to this:

Image

I guess I will have to figure out exactly all the different types of bulbs I'll need to change the guage cluster/controls/shifter base light/glovebox/trunk and maybe the license plate light...cause that looks real clean actually. Alot better then the orange streetlight feel kinda color ya know?

It should tell you everything you need, there were no differences between the model years on those parts. Just the dome light. I have pictures of the blue leds....compared to the cool white if you can't tell the color difference your monitor is off. The blue is closer to the odometer film while the cool white is more turquoise and a better match to the gauges.

This is a blue setup:

Is it risky to take apart the gauge cluster? I do have a spare one from the same year and the mileage is within 5,000 or the one that is in the car now.

If I modify the one spare that I have sitting around and then replace my current one with it when I'm done will there be any problems? I remember reading somewhere that the computer and the guages need to match?

Also one more thing towards you lilspark...are you trying to say that the second picture is actually different from the first one? lol

The color I'm looking for is lighter and has a tiny hint of green, but nowhere near as green as the current guages. Sorry I'm just trying to clarify!

I don't think you understand. You don't need to take your cluster apart at all to do this. All you do is flip it over and swap the bulbs.

You want cool white bulbs if you still want a hint of green in them as they are more turquoise than the blue. I am telling you they are different....the difference is plain as day especially since one has a redline and one doesn't. One is darker blue and one is lighter blue. They were both on my car...so yes they are VERY different.

I do notice the difference now. I also didn't realize changing the color was that easy!

[/FONT] As for my HVAC, SuperBrightLEDs does now sell white #74 Neo-Wedges in 5mm, if you want to purchase those you are more than welcome to. However when I ordered mine last year only red, blue and green were available. Mine are Corvette Neo-Wedges from Oznium.com in White. You will need THREE of these to complete the HVAC.

Purchase them here:
http://www.oznium.com/corvette-c5-led

If you want to order them from the same website to make things easier they are the 10th one down on this page. Cool white is not offered, but white will do just fine.

Purchase them here:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/ ... 50#3022-x4

They say: NeoWedge Instrument LED bulb
Are you SURE they are the 5mm and not the 3mm? My hvac bulbs look more like the smaller one in the picture...

Yep, it's that easy. The 5mm from superbrightleds.com do not fit. The 5mm from autolumination.com do fit..and the 3mm from oznium.com fit for sure. OB is testing the 4mm from superbrightleds.com as was previously mentioned in this thread.

There are different designs to the same mm bulb which is why some 5mms fit and others do not.

You can find UV leds everywhere....all three sites have them:
autolumination.com
superbrightleds.com
oznium.com

Prewired, not wired, and socket style like the 921. Just replace the trunk light with a UV strip like I did with the pink strip. Mo betta...mo brighta :)

Their is only one way to find out.. see how long they last.

Those leds probly weren't made up to high standards. maybe about 10% or so manufactured are actual duds. While other comapanies have a 2 to 1% failure.

I mean 100 leds for that little amount of money, i wouldn't waste my time picking through all the ones that didn't work.

Well just for a reference. It was $16 compared to $96.20 at oznium...

I'll do a report on the led's and how many of the are duds when the time comes.

Like LSP said.

I prefer SuperBrightLeds as they seem cheaper.
But AutoLumination will have them too.

Usually it won't say purple. it will say UV.

You should try besthongkong for leds, got the caps and the leds +extras for 86 shipped. Not bad considering I got close to 200 leds coming

Thats 33 cents a led after taking the caps out of the equation.
