How-To: antenna removal

Post by Gnuserup » Sun Sep 05, 2010 2:09 pm

As I found no description here is mine:

Only one nut helds the antenna, it has to be removed.
After doing this, you should unfasten the wheelhouse shield as much a s needed to get to the antenna and the cable.

The cable reaches a connector underneath the gloth box where it can simply be unplugged. Now you can get the cable with the seal easy out of the frame and take the antenna off.

If you unscrew just the nut you should be able to pull out the mast easily and could use the rest without taking it all out.
But no guarantee that an oem mast will fit directly.

I know I am doing a thread resurrection but I need info. After you unplug the old antenna lead. Can you plug an aftermarket antenna lead into the plug you took the stock one out of or just go straight to the stereo now with a new lead?

This is just an extension cable, so yes, you could do either way that works best.
